Maximum Values of Properties
Properties that can spawn on rare, crafted and magic items, compared to unique.
- Rare helms/armors/shields/weapons can get 1-2 sockets, magic 2-4 sockets (3-4 sockets only if it's a prefix).
- Rare and magic items can give +2 to all class skills, unique can give +2 to all skills which adds level to skills like BO from CTA. Magic can additionally give +3 to tab skills e.g. Sorc Light skills.
- If item gives all res and a single res at the same time, both values will be added and item will grant very high single res and all res to other elements (it will display as 4 properties instead of 2).
- Table doesn't include legacy items which often can give more and higher values of some properties e.g. legacy rare/crafted boots could roll Str but nowadays boots can only roll Dex.

Item Choices Explained
- Two claws provide the most trap damage (+10-12 levels) and allow you to use Weapon Block talent, which will block all attacks without a need to invest in Dex.
- Greater Talons (GT) are the best base because they are the fastest claws with very low requirements (79/79), so they don't need much additional Dex trained.
- Shadow Dancer gives skill bonus to Weapon Block and Fade, 30% FHR and Dex, which is needed to equip claws. They require 167 Str so we can equip double upgraded Magefist and Enigma Dusk, which has higher requirements than MP but better defense.
- You need to use main hand (MH) claw in the left weapon slot (above gloves) because trap laying speed benefits only from MH and gear's IAS - off hand's IAS will be ignored. You need 42% IAS with Fade (0% with Burst of Speed - BOS) but in VIP gear we use 70% (63% breakpoint) to counter players using 10% slow from Arach/Nosferatu. With WSM bug you can use less IAS to achieve the fastest laying speed but we recommend this only for the most experienced players as switching weapons all the time adds extra hassle and is easy to forget.
- Rest of the choices are standard generic caster items, they give a lot of +skills and enough FCR to Teleport and cast Mind Blast quickly (Trap laying speed depends on IAS).
- Call to Arms (CTA) switch gives you 75-89% more life/mana so keep rebuffing yourself every 3-4 minutes. You may need to spend some stat points into Strength to use Spirit but one extra BO level makes up for it in gained life (compared to Lidless).
- A common mistake that inexperienced players make is using Griffon and 5/5 Light RBF jewels. Traps are minions and they don't benefit from +light damage or -light res that you are wearing. However you need to use Griffon for 102% FCR build but it's just for the 25% FCR (rare helms can give only 20%).


Premium gear is using rare/crafted items to get better overall performance and we will min-max every item choice to reach appropriate caps and breakpoints. We will calculate how much resistances and other properties you need e.g. if we need a certain amount of res/str/dex from 3 rare/crafted items, we will make sure you don't get more than you can use and any extra adds will be life/mana/rep/fire and light res. We will also upgrade and socket every possible item and insert appropriate jewels/runes inside. You will receive free Tokens so you may experiment with different skill builds and Diamond/VIP set also comes with bonus prebuff+absorb gear.

Damage output of all premium gears is very similar but Diamond+ will have much more defensive stats like life and resistances. They come from more powerful rare/crafted items and at this gear level, each point of life and res costs premium. Those items also grant Str+Dex so you can equip this gear with little to no investment of stat points and can go full Vitality build.
Platinum gear offers the best value - you will get the best performance for your money. You can buy it at a fraction of the cost of the perfect gear and you will get similar performance and the same breakpoints (just less defensive stats).
Godlike gear is different on every Non-Ladder realm because there are different items available. We will present and discuss the build after the purchase and only deliver it after you approve it.

For Gold+ gear we recommend charms with life or other adds. Good rule of the thumb is to spend 50-75% of your budget on gear and 25-50% on your inventory, this way you will have a balanced char and get the best value.
Beside Anni+Torch 20/15+ (or better), we recommend buying 30-45 life Trap skillers and 10-20life/5% all res small charms.

Resistances
To get the maximum 75% res (gold color) to any element on Hell you need 175% because you get -100% penalty on this difficulty.
- Three Anya quests give 30% all res (10% per difficulty), we always include this in our gear res calculations.
- Torch and Anni give 20-40% all res.
- Jewel gives 9-15% all res in every slot (including weapons) and Um rune gives 15% all res in armors/helms and 22% in shields.
- Small Charms give 3-5% res to all elements or 10-11% to a single one.
- Assassin's Fade skill gives around 60% all res and 20% physical res.

Note that monsters with Conviction aura can reduce your fire/cold/light resistances by 100% so it is advised to aim for 275% light and fire res in PvM scenarios (it's called res stacking). Players are able to lower it even further with combination of skills, items and Rainbow Facets. Only Lower Resist curse can decrease your poison res and only Amplify Damage or Decrepify curses can reduce your physical res (there are wands with charges so any class can use them).
There are skills and items that can raise your resist cap to 95% and even convert (absorb) damage taken to life, making you invincible to that element e.g. Wisp, Hotspur or Guardian Angel.


How to Play
- Cast 4 Light Sentries and 1 Death Sentry in PvM scenarios and then use Mind Blast to stun, don't use Death Sentry during PvP.
- Use Fade or Burst of Speed depending on your situation (opponent) and resistances.
- Togle walking instead of running outside of town so you can block with your claws.
- Switch weapons to CTA+Spirit to teleport with the maximum FCR breakpoint.
- Call to Arms (CTA) switch gives you 75-89% more life/mana so keep rebuffing yourself every 3-4 minutes.


Skill & Stat Setup

Diablo 2 Lightning Sentry Left Click: Lightning Sentry (you can place traps by holding Shift)

Diablo 2 Death Sentry Right Click: Death Sentry (use 1 for PvM to explode corpses and clear big groups of monsters)

Only level 1 skills that you will use are listed in this guide, you will of course need to train prerequsite skills as well. You should prioritize training 20 level skills listed on top as you level up beyond 60 level, for lower level builds check out our leveling gear.
Trap Assa will max out at level 96 but every additional point in Weapon Block or Fade will still be very useful.

Diablo 2 Teleport Icon Enigma grants +1 to Teleport (Sorc skill usable by any class). You can teleport anywhere on the screen, even through the walls and your minions like merc will tele with you. At level 5-15 it costs 20-10 mana.
Diablo 2 Battle Orders (BO) Icon Call to Arms (CTA) grants +1-6 to Battle Orders (BO) (Barb shout usable by any class). At level 1-20 it gives +35-92% to life/mana (+3% per level) and lasts for 35-225 seconds (+10 per level). This is one of the most powerful items in Diablo 2 and almost every build should use it.
Diablo 2 Battle Command (BC) Icon Call to Arms (CTA) grants +2-6 to Battle Command (BC) (Barb shout usable by any class). It gives '+1 To All Skills' and lasts for 25-205 seconds (+10 per level). This shout will increase Battle Orders (BO) level so cast BC first.
